JKA Well Drilling & Pumps is a family-run company on Tye Street SE, just outside Monroe in Snohomish County. It was started in 1989 as a well driller. It now serves residential clients in King and Snohomish counties, and municipal and industrial clients across the Puget Sound region and western Washington. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 3 pm.

Drilling. The company mainly drills residential wells for drinking water and irrigation, and also takes commercial and agricultural work. Its well drilling page describes well design and siting, development, aquifer testing, and screen and pump sizing. It says it runs a dual rotary rig for 6- to 24-inch wells, alongside casing hammer machines.

Well rehabilitation. Its rehab page describes brushing and bailing wells to remove debris, chlorination, surge blocking, air lifting, dual swab airlifting, and chemical or acid treatment for biofouling and mineral buildup. It decommissions both drilled and dug wells to Washington requirements.

Inspections and testing. For home sales, its well inspections include up to 1.5 hours of flow testing, a surface inspection of the water system and a written report. Arsenic, nitrate and bacteria tests are optional. Its technicians also collect water samples for certified laboratory testing.

Pumps and treatment. It installs and repairs well pumps, pressure tanks, controls and variable-speed constant-pressure systems, plus booster pumps and storage tanks for low-yield wells. Its treatment work includes point-of-entry and point-of-use filtration, reverse osmosis, and water conditioning (softening) to remove hardness, iron and manganese. Its filtration page also names arsenic among the contaminants it treats.

Licensing. Ecology’s driller search lists two water well operators at the company. L&I lists general contractor, plumbing and electrical (domestic pump) registrations.
